Bio

International development expert with more than 20 years of experience in development evaluation, results based management, peace and security, crisis prevention and recovery, governance and public sector management. Before joining UN system, he was a senior official in the Government of Turkmenistan, leading development of national development plans and budgets. Within the UN system he worked for FAO, UNDP, UNFPA and the World Bank Group, leading design and conduct of strategic corporate-level, country-level and project evaluations. In his current capacity as Senior Evaluation Officer at FAO, he leads strategic evaluations, focusing on sustainability and climate action, evaluations of partnership strategies, country programmes and global initiatives. He develops knowledge management systems to facilitate evaluation utility and sharing of lessons learned, and actively engages in the work of the UN Evaluation Group, collaborating with evaluation units of other UN agencies and professional evaluation bodies, and promoting evaluation capacity development.
