Professionalizing Evaluation

UNEG is committed towards the professionalization of the evaluation function in the UN System. To this end, UNEG has published a number of key documents including:

• UNEG Norms for Evaluation in the UN System
• UNEG Standards for Evaluation in the UN System
• UNEG Job Descriptions for Evaluators in the UN System (see UNEG Guidance Documents)
• UNEG Core Competencies for Evaluators of the UN System
• UNEG Core Competencies for Heads of Evaluation in the UN System
• UNEG Ethical Guidelines
• UNEG Code of Conduct for Evaluation in the UN system

Since 2007 UNEG has also held an Evaluation Practice Exchange Seminar the two days prior to the UNEG AGM). The seminar is an opportunity for UNEG members to have an informal and practical exchange of experiences and information. Previous agenda items have included: management reponse and follow-up to recommendations; capturing and using lessons learned from evaluation and strengthening evaluation methodology.

UNEG has also been developing a Training Course for evaluators within the UN system (see current work)
