1. To identify the potential salt sites in the Gambia and assess the needs of
the producing sites for improved productivity and iodisation of its products.
2. To encourage the enactment of a policy that will support the universal salt
iodisation.
3. To facilitate the implementation of iodisation of all the salt that is
within the country and imported.
4. To identify training gaps to increase quantity and improve quality salt.
5. To develop a plan with line items budgeted for sustainable production at
these sites for the next 5 years.
6. To identify existing organisational structures at community level that can
serve as entry points for the collaboration between communities and other
stakeholders.
