“Improving Adolescent Lives in South Asia” initiative aims at providing the necessary means to
reduce the challenges faced by adolescents in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. It is implemented under the supervision of UNICEF and funded by the IKEA Foundation (IKEAF). The overall goal of this programme is to
sustainably reduce child marriages and early pregnancies, and to increase schooling for both young female and male adults.
The rationale for the impact evaluation of this programme is to identify the causal impact of the IKEA-II supported programme as a whole and to learn about the mechanisms (elements) of change described in the theory of change. The findings will also inform evidence-based programming for UNICEF and partners.
The results from the impact evaluation shall assist UNICEF in the adaptation of recommendations to the needs of the adolescents in marginalized areas and communities.
