This evaluation of the District MICS and the 2008 Ghana Demographic and Health
Survey data sets was done in order to compare and contrast certain indicators
(in particular information on infant and under-five mortality, distribution and
use of treated bed nets) as well as do a review of the regional breakdown of
sanitation and safe drinking water facilities. This is to enable the
organization judge if the initiative’s results are justified by the expenses
and commitments made as well as to learn how best to use and improve the
District MICS concept of data collection.
