In addition to the quantitative impact evaluation, we propose a qualitative process evaluation of the Child Grant programme in Mozambique to understand key aspects of the pilot program’s implementation, including the continuous enrollment process, cash transfer processes, current nutrition perceptions and practices, and the provision and uptake of complementary care services. In particular, this portion of the research design seeks to understand how cash transfers, and the connection between transfers and various “plus” or care services, shape nutrition practices and behaviours. This portion of the design also seeks to understand key differences in the cash only and Cash and Care models, by examining whether and how nutrition perceptions and practices differ between those participating in these two programmatic models. Qualitative data collection will occur in 6- and 12-month increments and will complement the quantitative impact evaluation.
