This report is designed to assess the AIA project and provide significant information and recommendations for future UNICEF supported activities.
The evaluation sought to better understand the relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of the AIA from 2017 to 2019. The objectives were to:
1- Evaluate the different AIA approaches including their impact on increasing immunization coverage in Lebanon.
2- Explore the potential contribution of these short-term activities to the strengthening of the MoPH EPI system.
3- Investigate the existence of gaps/ strength in the design/ implementation of AIA I and their relationship with the onset of the measles outbreak.
4- Evaluate the changes in the process of AIA II and III and their potential contribution to preventable Infectious Diseases (ID) control.
5- Provide recommendations on how to move forward towards a more relevant, efficient, cost-effective and sustainable immunization strengthening approach, taking into consideration the COVID-19 epidemic and the national economic crisis.
