The case study was conducted to review and document Tanjungsari Integrated ECCD
to raise recommendation to UNICEF (and other relevant partners/institutions)
for developing future ECCD program. Specifically, the objectives of the case
study are:
i. To assess the current status of the pilot project in relation to the
objectives, inputs, and expected outputs/outcomes;
ii. To critically assess the strategies and processes adopted to integrate
health, nutrition, and early learning, and lesson learnt from implementing the
strategies and processes;
iii. To identify the critical factors that contributed to successes and/or
failures in integrating the various elements of integrated ECCD and why;
iv. To assess relevance and feasibility of project expansion and identify
needed adjustments in project strategy, inputs and activities to achieve a more
effective and relevant integrated ECCD project that could be scaled up; and
v. To undertake an indicative cost effectiveness analysis of then specific
component (Taman Posyandu) by assessing costs and comparing them with similar
early learning interventions (e.g.; day care, kindergarten, etc.) that produce
comparable results on children 3-6 years.
