Over the last decade, several important steps have been taken by the Government of Kazakhstan to strengthen the child protection system for prevention and response to violence against children. The overall purpose of the evaluation is to assess to what extent the undertaken reforms in Kazakhstan have contributed to strengthening the system for prevention and response to violence, abuse, and neglect of children as well as to examine the enabling conditions and bottlenecks which will require further improvement. The evaluation is expected to provide the Government of Kazakhstan and UNICEF sound evidence and conclusions to inform planning the future strategies and work in this area. The key partner in this evaluation is the Human Rights Ombudsman's Office in Kazakhstan.
