After the baseline survey conducted in 2007 August, various communication
interventions had been undertaken. So it was necessary to assess the
effectiveness of the communication interventions. The overall objective of the
study was to assess the access and exposure to AI/HI print and mass media
messages with respect to increase/improvement in knowledge, attitudes and
practices on AI/HI in selected VDCs of Jhapa, Chitwan and Kathmandu districts
of Nepal.
Specific objectives were to:
• Compare the findings with baseline on the knowledge, attitude and practices
related to poultry handling, hand washing habits, separating and reporting
practices
• Assess exposure to print and mass media messages on poultry disease and bird
flu
