MOHP and UNICEF have implemented a comprehensive communication plan geared to
address national and sub-national gaps in KAP indicators and to increase
caretakers’ awareness and acceptance for NIDs. The purpose of the 2005 Polio
Campaign Final Assessment Survey (PCFAS) is to provide data on key KAP
indicators, changes in those indicators, and outstanding gaps that need to be
taken into consideration. In addition, the PCFAS aims to provide information
about caretakers’ media habits that could be used when designing future
communication campaigns, provide data on the profile of missed children in 8-10
May NID. Finally, assesses the cost effectiveness of the communication
interventions.
