REPORT ON THE REVIEW OF UNICEF SUPPORTED WOMEN ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES (WEA) PROJECT
Overview
In the context that UNICEF wishes to contribute to poverty alleviation in
Tanzania along side with other partners in the development agenda, the purpose
of this assignment was:
Document the lessons learnt from the initiatives in terms of success,
weaknesses and opportunities that exists;
Recommend on how to conclude the agreement with the bank and deal with the
women who had received the loans;
Propose modalities of re-assigning the resources currently in the banks; and
Recommend the best way of supporting livelihood initiatives ensuring focus on
the disadvantaged groups such as orphan caretakers and youth groups.
