This report is a Terminal Evaluation of a UNEP “Generating and Sharing Knowledge for Influencing Decision-Making on Sound Management of Chemicals and Waste” project implemented between October 2018 and June 2023.The project's overall development goal was to facilitate the establishment of legal and institutional frameworks for chemical management from the institutional to global level, through collaboration and knowledge-sharing platforms, aimed at reducing the risks posed by hazardous chemicals and environmental pollution, ultimately fostering safer environmental practices and enhancing public health. The evaluation sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The evaluation has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, and main project partners.
